What personal assistants really want
What happens if personal assistants in your organization away for a week? How it can impact your business or Department respectively. How it can affect you. Personally?
If you're fortunate to have a personal assistant whom you rely heavily on your help, in most cases you will find yourself running rough if they are absent for longer than a day.
This week I talked with two clients who were in a situation where every year their country was on vacation, and the lives of those agents and Super stressed as a result. Although they have other people in their organization to help out, was not the same having an Assistant who knows you very well and can get things done without having to even ask.
If you're fortunate to have a large every year then I should appreciate and care for them. Are often undervalued, but they are key people who keep the wheels turning in your organization.
I know there are many every year there who love what they do and have great leaders, but there are heaps of others who do not.
These women (and there are every year individual males) doing its utmost best, start early, stay at lunchtime, priced at work late and after, unappreciated and underpaid.
Marion's story
Marion is every year and hardworking, reliable and competent and had worked for the same company for 8 years. This long in today's work environment. I bumped into Marion this week, when I attended a presentation given to the Victorian Office professionals, network each year.
I asked her if she was still in the same company and that's what she said. "I was starting to get tired of my job, my boss had the latter not easy to get with her. He was very conservative and did not fill me in issues affecting my work. Imminent information unless I paid for it. Then had to guess the right questions to ask, and never made me feel accepted or supported, and make it really hard to come to work. I arrived at work one morning recently, informed me that my services are no longer needed. Within two hours I had packed my and said goodbye to several close friends and drove home in a State of shock. This is what I got for all the hard work and overtime and loyalty ".
Helen's story
That Helen is her own business. What motivated her to take such a bold step. Her last position as each year was very cumbersome, mainly due to people she worked for. Helen told me that every Sunday afternoon about 16:00 felt cast a dark shadow on her as she started thinking about next week. Her decision to end her work came immediately after the doctor visited her. She had put a lump on her breast. Fortunately, no breast, it was because of her stress levels!
Tips for the boss
Treat every year with respect
How did they ask them every day.
Invest in the personal and professional development.
Listen to them
Say thank you '
Realize that every year you have a life outside of work and needs time out like she does
Be flexible-many every year she has a family to care for, if you are flexible they will be faithful to the end and we work harder
Understand that when you give them tasks to do, although you may have taken too much 2 minutes to talk with them and can take them 2 days, especially with many interruptions have to deal with.
Keep all of your episode. Organizing regular time every day to "catch up".
